Manchester City defeated Real Madrid 4-3 in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium.

The game witnessed a seven-goal thriller with Manchester City breaking d deadlock in the opening two minutes of the clash.

Gabriel Jesus made things worst for Real Madrid with another goal in the 11th minute of the clash.

Real Madrid responded with a Karim Benzema close-range finished after the attacker tapped in a Ferland Mendy cross before the end of the first half.

Phil Folden scored from a Fenandinho pin-point pass to give the host a 3-1 lead at the start of the second half, within two minutes of the goal Vinicius made a solo effort from the half field to score the second for Real Madrid, the pace began to slow down before Bernando Silva rocked in a powerful shot to the top roof of the post leaving Thibaut Courtois no chance to get the ball.

Real Madrid once again narrowed the scoreline with a penalty from Benzema after Laporte handed the ball into his box.

Both teams will have the scores to settle when they meet at the Bernabeu next week for a place in the Champions League finals.
