Netherlands defender Virgil van Dijk’s lone goal was enough for the Orange boys to secure a slim victory against Belgium in their UEFA Nations League clash.

Both sides played a goalless draw for the entire first half, The best chance of the opening half fell to the boots of Axel Witsel but he was denied by the brilliant effort of Netherlands goalkeeper Remko Pasveer in the 32nd minute of the match.

Denzel Dumfries had a great opportunity to put the home team ahead, he created some space for himself inside the penalty box and unleashes a decent strike towards the bottom left corner, but Thibaut Courtois makes an astonishing save to thwart him in the 50th minute of the match.

Amadou Onana blasted a great scoring opportunity, He received a precise lofted cross inside the box and sent a quick shot to the right side of the goal, but he can’t get the power to direct it past Remko Pasveer, who kept it out of play in the 67th minute.

Virgil van Dijk outjumped the defence inside the six-yard box to meet the corner and scored with a great header into the bottom left corner leaving Courtois hapless in the 73rd minute to make it 1-0.
