New Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has reacted and put up a man-of-the-match performance by scoring two goals for Lorient’s 2-1 win over Clermont Foot in the French Ligue 1 encounter at Yves Allaintmat- Le Moustoir.
The 23-year-old Nigeria international started the game as a lone striker for Les Merlus just as he had done in the previous two games.
Moffi opened his account of the day from the penalty spot as the Super Eagles striker displaying bravery having missed a penalty in the previous game which ended 2-2 away at Toulouse when he stepped up to score in the 24th minute of the encounter.
The Calabar-born star completes his brace three minutes before the end of the first half when he calmly rounded the goalkeeper to finish into an empty net having broken away from Clermont Foot defenders.
Brazilian full-back Neto Borges was sent off after he picked up his second yellow card as the away team was reduced to 10 men having given away the penalty in the first part of the game.
Clermont Foot pulled one back to reduce the deficit in the 62nd minute through Muhammed Cham as they sparked a potential comeback despite one man down.
Lorient sees out the tie and picks up the second maximum points in their third league game of the season.
Super Eagles striker denied an opportunity to search for his hattrick as he was substituted off in the 73rd minute but the Nigerian star took his social media handle with joy and happiness after the Ligue 1 encounter as he said this is Moffi time.

Moffi’s international teammate, Innocent Bonke, replaced Enzo Le Fee in the 82nd minute.
Lorient remains unbeaten in the league this season after winning two and drawing once in their opening three French Ligue 1 games so far.
