Nigerian coach Bankole Olowookere dropped Arsenal star Tolulope Adubiaro after naming the final 21 players to feature in the 2022 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in India.
Olowookere has invited four foreign-based players to the squad led by Adubiaro of Arsenal Women’s team, UK-based Comfort Erhabor, Daniella Alali from LA Galaxy, USA, and IFK Goteborg midfielder Alima Alasse.
The Flamingos coach released a final squad of players for the U17 Women’s World Cup after he reduced the team from 35 to 21 for the competitions.
Arsenal forward Adubiaro, UK-based goalkeeper Erhabor, LA Galaxy winger Alali, and IFK Goteborg midfielder Alasse could not make the final cut for the tournament in India.
The team will leave the shores of the country for Turkey for a training camp before arriving Iin ndia but the India High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Gangaharan Balasubramanian hosted the team for dinner.
The Flamingos will play in Group B and will face Germany, Chile, and New Zealand in the tournament starting next month from 11th till 30th after it was called off in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic that disrupted sporting events.
