Real Madrid recorded a 3-1 win over Osasuna in the La Liga at the El-Sadar on Wednesday evening but the victory was marred by Karim Benzema’s two penalty miss thanks to Sergio Herrera.
David Alaba got the opener for Real Madrid from an assist from Karim Benzema in the 11th minute but Osasuna replied immediately with a fine finish from Ante Budimir, who had all the space for a tap in from the close range.
Real Madrid had more of the ball possession and dominated the play but Osasuna played with a swift counter attacker and each time they break it became a huge problem for Real Madrid to handle.

Asensio smashed in the second goal for Real Madrid in the last minute of the first half after Osasuna’s goalkeeper failed to clear Dani Ceballos’s close-range effort.
Real Madrid was awarded a penalty after the Chimy Villa handed the ball into the penalty box but Karim Benzema was not at his best when he took the spot-kick and missed the chance to score the third for Real Madrid.
Benzema missed another spot-kick again following a great save from the Osasuna goalkeeper Hererra.
Lucas Vazquez scored the third goal for Real Madrid in the nick of time, Real Madrid continue to march on to their objective of winning the La Liga.
Real Madrid need just a few points from their six games to win the title, Real Madrid capitalised on Atletico Madrid’s slip up against Granada to go 17 points clear on top of the La Liga summit, Los Blancos’ next game will be in the Champions League against Manchester City, while their next game in the La Liga will be against Espanyol.
