Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe has matched a 30-year-old record set by Michel Rio for Caen against Cannes on February 15, 1992, following his eight seconds goal against Lille.

Mbappe scored an eight-second goal against Lille, the Frenchman was released by Lionel Messi just a few seconds of play, and he lobbed the ball over Lille goalkeeper Leo Jardim to score his second league goal of the season in a grand style.

The goal against Lille matched the speed record set by Rio for Caen against Cannes 30 years ago, Mbappe’s pace is unequal, his pace helped him to get into space to catch Messi’s pass and he regained his composure to finish cooly against a hapless Lille side.

The execution of the plan seems to be something PSG have been working on as Neymar kicked off and immediately got the ball back. He set the ball back to Messi who played a first-time ball for Mbappe behind Jose Fonte. Mbappe’s finish was superb.

The attacker was on a rampage as he ended the game with a hattrick following the 1-7 win over Lille on Sunday evening in their Ligue 1 match
