Nigerian coach Jose Peseiro has named Hoffenheim defender Kevin Akpoguma plus 24 others for Super Eagles’ international friendly match with Algeria.
The two former African Champions failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and will face off at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium, Oran on Tuesday, September 27.
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Hoffenheim defender Kevin Akpoguma, Hertha Berlin forward Chidera Ejuke, Watford kepper Maduka Okoye Nottingham Forest new signing Taiwo Awoniyi and Adana’s Henry Onyekuru are making a return to Super Eagles squad.
However, Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika has been handed his first national team call-up.
The 25-man squad for the high profile friendly was published on the Super Eagles’ Twitter handle on Saturday.

The Super Eagles will debut their new jersey by international sports wear brand Nike against Algeria.
Nigeria will be attempting to defeat Algeria for the first time since 2016, when they defeated the country 3-1 in Uyo during the World Cup qualifying matches.
The last three encounters between the two nations have been won by Algeria
