Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion have completed the signing of Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze’s Villarreal team-mate Pervis Estupinan on a five years contract.
The 24-year-old Ecuador international has been a regular for Unai Emery’s side after making 74 appearances for the Yellow Submarine since moving to Estadio de la Cerámica on 16 September 2020.
Estupinan arrives in Brighton and Hove Albion with plenty of experience after winning Europa League with Villarreal in 2021 and reaching the UEFA Champions League semi-final last season.
The South American has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Amex Stadium for an undisclosed fee reported to be worth £ 14 million (€16.7m) after the Seagull confirmed the signing via their official website and social media.

Coach Graham Potter is keen on bringing a new left-back Amex Stadium after the sold former Barcelona defender Marc Cucurella to Chelsea for an initial £55 million, plus £7 million in add-ons.
Potter is thrilled by the arrival of Estupinan by speaking to the club website: “We’re excited by what Pervis brings us, and he fills a position to which we’ve been looking to add depth,”
“In addition to his international experience, he has played for Villarreal in the Champions League and Europa League, as well as gaining plenty of experience in LaLiga.
“We will help him to settle here in England, but we’re looking forward to working with him and seeing him in action in the Premier League.”
Estupinan begins his footballing career at LDU Quito before his spell at Watford, Granada, Almeria, Real Mallorca, and Osasuna in Spain.
Estupinan could make his Brighton debut against West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday having beaten Manchester United 2-1 and drawn 0-0 with Newcastle in their opening two games.
