Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has officially requested the signing of Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger to the Bernabeu chiefs ahead of next summer transfer, according to report.

Real Madrid was keen on signing the German defender but was put off by his high wage demands but the deal seems to attract the Santiago Bernabeu directors at the moment with the player’s agent lowering their demands.

Ancelotti has informed the club president Florentino Perez of the need to strengthen the squad and his desire to sign the defender, Rudiger’s contract ends on June 30 and Real Madrid could get him on a free transfer if he decides to leave the Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Real Madrid could play David Alaba in the left-back position if Rudiger joins forces with the 13th time Champions League winners.

Ancelotti’s men are on the verge of sealing their 35th La Liga title and also in the Champions League semi-finals but the club is already planning for the coming season.
