Real Sociedad needed a late goal to see off competition from Omonia to claim a 2-1 win at the San Sebastian Stadium on Thursday evening in their Europa League.
Real Sociedad drew the first blood in the 30th minute of the match with a rebound arriving on the feet of Ander Guevara to put the host in front.
The lone goal was the difference between the two teams in the first half of the match. Omonia fired back in the 73rd minute to equalise and made it 1-1.
Real Sociedadfought back to make it 2-1 following a goal from Alexander Sorloth to make it 2-1 with just 10 minutes left to play at the San Sebastian stadium.
The La Liga team held on to the scoreline to move to the top of the Group E standings.
