Sampdoria has ended Juventus’ seven wins on a roll with a 0-0 draw at the Luigi Ferrari stadium on Monday evening, before this match the Old Ladies have been on seven winning streaks against the host.
Juventus was unable to break down the Sampdoria defence line in the opening half with the host making it difficult for the visitors.
Sampdoria had six goal attempts while Juventus has just four in the first half, though the visitors had more shots on goal. Sampdoria had a better first half in terms of ball possession the home team had 52% of the ball possession to 48% for Juventus.
Juventus stepped up in the second half and won the battle of ball possession, the away team also posed some goal threats but Sampdoria’s defence stood firm to withstand the pressure from the Juventus attack. Adrien Rabiot’s effort was ruled offside as the celebration of the away team was cut short following the decision from the VAR review.
