Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been involved in a scandal linking him with a jailed businessman names Tayeb B, according to to report published in France.

The report claimed that Al-Khelaifi was involved in blackmail, abuse and extortion scheme, this was against the 41-year-old French Algerian who allegedly held compromising information about Al-Khelaifi, which could have implicated the football chief in the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.

The report was published by Liberation and claims that Tayeb B was arrested on January 13, 2020, in Qatar and imprisoned until November 1, 2020.
He was only released after handing all his information over to Al-Khelaifi’s lawyers and signing a confidentiality agreement.

Yet, he has spoken to the French publication and alleged that his arrest was made solely and exclusively because of an “order of the Emir of Qatar”.

Al-Khelaifi was at the centre of issues against Real Madrid in the Champions League last season when he challenge officials for not awarding a free-kick to PSG.
As per Movistar’s Monica Marchante, Al-Khelaifi stormed downstairs from his box after the whistle and went seeking the officials’ dressing room to complain about something he didn’t like during the game.

Al-Khelaifi was left red-faced, though, as he ended up storming into Mejia Davila’s office – a Real Madrid delegate. He then had to be removed with difficulty.

It’s thought that Al-Khelaifi was unhappy that PSG wasn’t given a free-kick when Karim Benzema closed down Gianluigi Donnarumma for the first Real Madrid goal.
