Shooting Stars have unveiled a new coach of Gbenga Ogunbote for his third spell ahead of the 2022-23 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The Oluwole Warriors of Ibadan have an abysmal campaign last term after escaping relegation to National Divison the last season with a goal difference ahead of Kano Pillars who end up in the 17 positions on the log table.

Ogunbote guided Remo Stars to finish third in the just concluded NPFL season and secure the first ever continental ticket in their debut season Ikenne-based club from the second division.

The well-traveled experienced coach was unveiled at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan as he take over from Edith Agoye after Shooting Stars sacked the club’s former player at the end of last season.

Ogunbote speaks to media during a presentation to 3SC fans at the press: “Shooting Stars is one of the best clubs in Nigeria with rich histories and wonderfully traditional. I’ve been here before and I don’t think I have problems during my last two appointments. I think when you did very well, people will want you back.”

“My appointment this third time is to ensure Shooting Stars return to her winning ways and put smiles on the faces of all lovers of the club.

“To the glory of God, I’ve delivered continental tickets to six clubs and rescued three teams from relegation. I can only say Shooting Stars will end up in an appreciable position this coming season.” Ogunbote added.

Ogunbote has bring in former MFM FC trainer John Dosu to work along him as a new goalkepping traning coach for the upcoming season.

Ogunbote who is also knowm as Oracle has his coaching in Giwa FC, Shooting Stars, Enyimba, Enugu Rangers, Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars, Remo Stars and now Shooting Stars for the third spell.
