Brenda Rodgers is under pressure as Leicester City travels to Edgeley Park to face League Two strugglers in Stockport County in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

The home team have suffered another defeat last weekend after losing 2-1 to Mansfield, while former Premier League champions have not tasted a victory from their three English topflight division encounter so far.

This will be the first meeting in any competition between Stockport County and Leicester City since March 2009 after playing a 1-1 draw in League One.

The home side will be looking to reach the third round of the Carabao Cup for the first time since 1996-97 and facing Premier League opposition in the tournament since their 3-0 defeat to Everton in the 2003-04 second round.

Leicester City’s only Carabao Cup clash with Stockport was back in the 2008-09 season with the Foxes triumphing by 1-0 in the first round of the competition.

The King Power outfit hasn’t been eliminated from the second round of the tournament since their first season back in the Premier League in 2014-15 when they were beaten by League Two Shrewsbury Town.

Leicester City are three-time Carabao Cup winners after lifting trophies in 1964, 1997, and 2000 but despite their difficulties in the Premier League they still boast an able and versatile squad that can take care of business against opponents Stockport County.

Leicester City win and over 2.5 goals in the encounter on Tuesday night at Edgeley Park.
