The 18-year-old midfielder featured 13 times for Steven Gerrard’s side last season after making his first team debut on 19 May 2021 in a 2–1 away victory over Tottenham Hotspur hitting the post within minutes of entering the game.

The youngster was left out of  Aston Villa’s pre-season tour to Australia after he turned down a contract extension to remain in Villa Park with his current deal expires next summer.

However, according to Chelsea’s official website report that both Premier League sides have given Chukwuemeka permission to embark on a journey to West London to discuss personal terms before he will undergo medical examinations on Wednesday ahead of signing a six-year contract until 2028 which is worth 15 million pounds with a further £5m in add-ons.

The Austria-born midfielder has been tipped for great things after he is one of the Premier League’s brightest young prospects with Chelsea seeing the deal as a major coup for one of the most talented youngsters in the English topflight under the noses of rival clubs both home and abroad.

Chukwuemeka will become Thomas Tuchel’s third summer signing after bringing former Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling from the league defending champions Manchester City for £50m and 2021 Africa Cup of Nations winner Kalidou Koulibaly from Serie A outfit Napoli for £34m.

The German tactician is still keen to bring more players to Stamford Bridge with Joško Gvardiol and Marc Cucurella courted by the Blues.

Chukwuemeka is eligible to play for the national teams of Nigeria England, and Austria but the rising star will be aiming to hit the ground running to force himself into Chelsea’s first team plan.
