Super Falcons skipper Onome Ebi is delighted after joining Spanish top club women’s topflight club Levante Las Planas.

The 39-year-old Nigeria international will continue her industrious professional career journey with the newly promoted club after leaving FC Minsk of Belarus.

Onome made 19 appearances while scoring four goals after rejoining the club in 2021 and will team up with fellow Super Falcons teammate Rita Chikwelu at Levante.

The Veteran Nigeria defender expressed her delight after joining the Barcelona-based side as she share a post on her social media handle.

This will be Ebi’s tenth club after playing for Pitea IF and Djurgardens IF in Sweden, Atasehir Belediyespor FC, Duvenciler Lisesispor, and Atasehir Belediyespor in Turkey, and Minsk in Belarus between 2014 and 2016.

 

The Lagos-born defender have increased Super Falcon players plying their trade in Spain like Asisat Oshoala at Barcelona, Rasheed Ajibade at Atletico Madrid, Rita Chikwelu at Levente, Toni Payne at Sevilla, and Osinachi Ohale at Deportivo Alaves, Charity Adule at Eibar and Monday Gift at UDG Tenerife.

Ebi is not part of the Super Falcons 22 players listed by Randy Waldrum for their international friendly with Japan on October 6th in Kobe.

Former Bayelsa star will be keen to put in good performances to win back her place in the Super Falcons squad ahead of next year’s World Cup.

The seven-time African Women’s Cup of Nations participant will hope to make her La Liga debut when Levante take on Alhama on Sunday as they seek their second victory of the season.
