Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has cooled down the need for the arrival of a new midfielder at Stamford Bridge despite the obvious need to sign a ball distributor that was badly exposed in the 3-0 defeat against Leeds United.
Chelsea is not done with transfers and they are in the race to sign two Barcelona players Pierre Emerick-Aubamenyang and Frenkie de Jong and those additions are yet to be signed which is having a negative effect on the team.
Chelsea has not played convincingly well this season, in their last three games, they won Everton 1-0 thanks to a spot kick from Jorginho, drew against Tottenham Hotspur and suffered a great defeat against Leeds United.

In those games Chelsea showed a bit of confidence against Spurs though the match was marred by poor officiating, N’Golo Kante suffered an injury and Chelsea was exposed and it was evident against high pressing Leeds with no one to check and break the lines for Chelsea.
After the match it was clear that the team need reinforcement at the middle of the pack following the injury of Kante and Mateo Kovacic currently out injured, Tuchel reacted as if the suggestion was outlandish given the options already available to him at Chelsea.
“Another midfielder? We have Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, we have Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, and Mateo Kovacic. They’re injured, yes, it’s a problem. But they will come back. They’ve not disappeared.”
De Jong was previously linked to Chelsea in a £60million move away from the Camp Nou with Barcelona keen on reducing their wage bill and raise s funds to register new signings but Chelsea has been unable to prise away the midfielder from Barcelona, though it seems the Dutch midfielder that halted the move to Stamford Bridge partly because he is owed €18m in deferred wages but also because he and his family are settled in Catalonia.
The only clear option available for Chelsea to sign from Barcelona at the moment is the signing of former Arsenal striker Aubamenyang.
