Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi has hinted that Super Eagles are eager to avenge Tuesday night’s international friendly at the Miloud Hadefi Olympic Complex.

The Desert Foxes have an edge over Nigeria in their last two encounters with a last-gasp 2-1 win over Super Eagles in the semifinals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Algeria beat three-time Africa Champions 1-0 in a friendly staged in Austria late in 2020.

Super Eagles seeking their first win in four attempts against Algeria with the last victory coming in a 3-1 win in the FIFA World Cup qualifier in 2016.

Algeria coach Belmadi is aware of the good record his team has against the three-time African champions Nigeria. But he is wary of the threat that the Super Eagles pose, especially as they may want to avenge their 2019 AFCON loss.

Belmadi said as per DZfoot: “Against Nigeria, it will be another game,”

“It is a team that needs no introduction, given that it is one of the best in Africa. I’m sure they will come with a spirit of revenge, as our last two meetings have been in our favor.

The Desert Foxes beat Guinea in their friendly game on the 23rd(Friday) thanks to Islam Slimani’s 79th-minute finish, while Super Eagles played a 2-2 scored draw in a test game against Algeria Team B side.
